My Current System
I had to put myself on a tight budget after these upgrades, but damnit, it was worth it! Since it's been a while since I've done upgrades, I just tell you what's new. This is very out of date. The system has reproduced. I'll update this later.
- ATX-style case from Jinco. Specs. The digital display is set to 42.
- Freetech Pentium Pro 66-SP motherboard. Specs.
- Pentium Pro 200. Fact Sheet.
- 64 MB EDO RAM. Some information about EDO can be found at Micron Technology. I should upgrade to at least 128 soon, since ram prices are pathetic. And to think, I spent $400 on that original 64...and about $165 for each 4MB simm in my old system with a paltry 16 meg total...
- Hitachi SuperScan Elite 611 Monitor. 17", .22mm Dot Pitch. Specs here. I have nothing but praise for this monitor; it is simply a pleasure to use.
- Epson ActionLaser 1400. It seemed amazingly hard to find specs for this device, but I've htmlized a feature set with some FAQ's here.
- Generic mouse (Until I can buy a replacement trackball, which seems to be taking much longer than anticipated since I've been buying other cooler stuff in the meantime...)
- Generic 3.5" drive
- Nec IDE Quad speed 4 disk cd changer
- Mountain SCSI Double speed 7 disk cd changer
- Iomega SCSI Zip drive
- Western Digital 1.6 Gig EIDE Caviar hard disk
- Seagate 2.6 Gig EIDE hard disk
- Fujitsu 5.1 Gig EIDE hard disk
- Micropolis 4.3 Gig SCSI-2 Wide 7200RPM hard disk
- Matrox Millennium I with 4 MB built in. I need to get that memory upgrade...
- Gravis Ultrasound PnP with 8 MB RAM. Specs.
- Adaptec 2940-UW SCSI card
- 3Com 3c509 Parallel Tasking Ethernet card.
- Generic 28.8 modem (ugh.)
- Reveal RadioReveal FM Radiocard
I'll be putting more information here soon, specifically, software stuff, etc. If you haven't caught on by now, I'm running Linux, Xfree86, and Afterstep.
